INDIA: Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, is set to release his movie, “UT69,” in theatres on November 3. With only a few weeks left for its debut, the makers unveiled the trailer on Wednesday. Raj Kundra plays the main character in the movie, which is based on his life.

The clip gives viewers a peek at businessman Raj’s time spent behind bars in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail due to a case involving pornographic material. The trailer includes his arrest in 2021.

Raj, who is making his acting debut in the film, comes across something that seems like a stampede at one point. The unexpected friendships Raj forges, while incarcerated, are also shown in the teaser.

From being recognised as Shilpa Shetty’s husband to becoming a “Bigg Boss” contestant, Raj finds it hard to cope with the constant taunting he receives from other prisoners and police personnel within the jail, as the trailer depicts.

Raj Kundra was arrested in July 2021 on charges of producing pornographic recordings but was released on bail in September. He was accused of violating laws such as the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women Act, and the Information Technology Act.

One user wrote, “And here’s how Bollywood cleans the image. Just like sanju.”

“Biopic of Raj Kundra. This is the last thing we wanted. Absolutely nonsense… now they are justifying what he did and show his struggle in jail…Just to gain sympathy,” added another user.

“Very inspiring story it inspired everyone to make porn movies and go to the jail,” an X user said.
